Chastity:  Embroidery. Detail of the allegorical figure of the virtue of chastity.  Reproduced by medievalist Jane Tibbetts Schulenburg (UW-Madison) in an embroidery in the style of the opus anglicanum with raised work.  The embroidery is based on an illumination by Master Honoré de Amiens, “the allegories of chastity and lust” from La Somme le Roi (c. 1300) MS 368, Fitzwilliam Museum.  Contact the artist:  UW-Madison.
